La red 5G

El alcance de internet tiene una deuda pendiente con diversas zonas geográficas del mundo; sin embargo, algunas otras, como China y Estados Unidos, han acelerado el paso para tener a su disposición una red más rápida. Esta red permitirá la carga de datos de forma tan veloz que impulsará el cómputo cuántico, de acuerdo con el doctor J. Enrique Portillo, profesor de Transformación Digital del Departamento de Mercadotecnia y Análisis de la Escuela de Negocios del Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Vehículos autónomos

Empresas insignia en el campo de los vehículos, como Tesla de Elon Musk, han trabajado para tener no solo automóviles eléctricos, sino unos que ya no dependan de personas tras el volante. Los vehículos autónomos todavía no generan la confianza suficiente debido a diversos accidentes en los que se han involucrado.

Inteligencia artificial

La siguiente década será el auge de un conjunto de tecnologías que son interdependientes, como Big Data, aprendizaje profundo y la IA. Para 2030, existirán muchas aplicaciones de inteligencia artificial y estaremos en la parte de ‘edge AI’, que es inteligencia artificial en el borde. “Esto se refiere a que los equipos van a tener capacidad de inteligencia autónoma, es decir, sin necesidad de conectarse a internet, como hoy lo hacemos por ejemplo a través de unas bocinas”, indicó el director de desarrollo de negocios en MediaTek México.

Automatización

Muchos empleos quizá se remplacen con tecnología, sobre todo los mecánicos y también muchos que pagan muy bien en la medicina, derecho y otros ámbitos. Pero esta también es una oportunidad para volver a idear cómo imaginamos el empleo y la educación. Las compañías tecnológicas deberían averiguar cómo desplegar el talento de manera creativa y humana en todo el mundo para mostrar que están interesadas en lidiar con las consecuencias de sus invenciones.

Generación de datos

La conexión se volverá cada vez más rápida, agilizando diversos procesos, además de crearse otros nuevos que facilitarán las tareas cotidianas. Algo tan común como las conferencias online, Microsoft cree que esto ya no será problema y que incluso haremos contacto en forma de holograma.

Habrá más inversiones en la tecnología que aborde el cambio climático. Los gobiernos quizá nunca se pongan de acuerdo, por eso resulta de suma importancia que la tecnología comience a enfocarse en crear productos que contrarresten dicho fenómeno. Bill Gates y Elon Musk han estado invirtiendo más en ese rubro, hay muchas áreas que explorar, entre ellas el almacenamiento de baterías, los productos renovables, el software y la inteligencia artificial para ayudarnos a entender los datos del clima, el ecosistema alimentario e incluso la manera en que construimos nuestros edificios.

Hay inquietud sobre la adicción a las pantallas. Tristan Harris, un renombrado experto en tecnología, lo llama “degradación humana”; sin embargo, hay una oportunidad para impulsar la ética del diseño. Aunque los dispositivos tecnológicos en general han sido buenos para la mayoría de la gente, hay una verdadera oportunidad de negocios en hacer que funcionen de manera más eficiente y sin depender de una adicción. Ya sea que avancemos hacia una tecnología creada de manera intuitiva en nuestro entorno o una tecnología que se incorpore en nuestros cuerpos.

No hemos lidiado por completo con todas las repercusiones que la tecnología tuvo en la última década, por lo que a la par deberá de haber más regulaciones.

The Internet’s reach owes a debt to various geographical areas of the world; however, some others, such as China and the United States, have accelerated the pace in order to have a faster network available. This network will allow data to be loaded so quickly that it will boost quantum computing, according to Dr. J. Flagship vehicle companies, such as Tesla of Elon Musk, have worked to have not only electric cars, but ones that no longer depend on people behind the wheel. Autonomous vehicles are still not generating enough confidence due to various accidents involving.

Artificial intelligence

The next decade will see the rise of a set of technologies that are interdependent, such as Big Data, deep learning and AI. By 2030, there will be many applications of AI and we will be in the ‘edge AI’ part. “This means that the equipment will have autonomous intelligence capacity, that is, without the need to connect to the Internet, as we do today for example through speakers,” said the director of business development in MediaTek Mexico.

Automation

Many jobs may be replaced by technology, especially mechanics and also many high-paying jobs in medicine, law and other fields. But this is also an opportunity to rethink how we imagine employment and education. Technology companies should find out how to creatively and humanely deploy talent around the world to show that they are interested in dealing with the consequences of their inventions.

Data generation

Connection will be faster, speeding up several processes and creating new things that will make everyday tasks easier. Something as simple as an online conference, Microsoft believes this will no longer be a problem and that we might even be in contact using holograms.

There will be more investment in technologies that address climate change. Governments may never reach an agreement, which is why it is important that technologies start focusing on creating products to counter this issue. Bill Gates and Elon Musk have been investing more and more in this concern. There are many areas to explore, among them are storage of batteries, renewable products, software and artificial intelligence to help us understand climate data, the food ecosystem and even the way we build our buildings.

There is the concern regarding addiction to screens. Tristan Harris, renamed expert on technology, calls it “human degradation”; however, there is still an opportunity to promote the design ethics. Although technological devices have been generally good for most of the population, there is a great business opportunity to make them work more efficiently without developing an addiction. Whether we are moving towards technology that is intuitively created in our environment or technology that is incorporated into our bodies

We have not yet dealt completely with all the impacts from technology on the last decade, which is why there should be more regulations.
